To our neighbours to the south – FINALLY! And congratulations.
Up in Canada, we’ve been celebrating equal rights for marriage since 2005, but this announcement in the US makes us very happy, both for our friends who can now celebrate equality in their home country, and for those to whom basic human rights have long been withheld. (see article 16: http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/)
More work is needed for so many more people, but what a long-overdue step forward.
So we tip our hats as we celebrate Pride Week up in Lola’s (now rainy) hometown…
…and, more importantly, we get that treat out of our pocket to give to Lola for enduring the crazy hats and photo posing that she had to endure.
