Lola Pug has many canine friends of all sizes, colours and shapes, but when we get together with her stuffy-faced friends, we seem to have the most fun.
A couple of days ago, we had the great pleasure of meeting up with (the beautifully named) Lola Bulldog, who Lola Pug has known for a few years now.
And look who wanted in on the party!
A trifecta of stuffy-faced gorgeousness. (Thanks to Bossdawg’s Dad, Greg, for taking this snap!)
Don’t take their distance from you personally, Bossdawg, I think the girls were really just looking forward to hanging out together this time.
Lola Bulldog seemed to be really excited to explore the trails by Lola’s home…
…take the fresh air in, babydoll!
And just because it was that kind of day, and the siren call of the stuffy-faces was clearly ringing through the air, who should we bump into but the very handsome Beckett…
Beckett was immediately charmed by Lola Bulldog, but in keeping with her girl’s only day, she wanted none of it (see, Boss, it’s not personal!)…
…sorry, dude.
One of the most beautiful things about the trails near Casa Lola is this dog refreshment station, installed by a local family in honour of, and then in memory of, their beloved family member, Willy.
I confess, I don’t read the plaque very often, as I tend to get all teary eyed when I do…
Willy enjoyed the fountain, himself, in his lifetime, and the trail regulars all noticed sadly when his name plaque was added to the bottom.
But his legacy lives on in this beautiful gift, and Lola Bulldog wasted no time at all in jumping in to cool herself down. Lola Pug, of course, stood as far away from the water as possible, horrified by the wetness of it all.
Still infatuated with his new friend, Beckett caught up to us and joined the party once again…
…but Lola Bulldog let him know exactly what she thought about his intrusion into her refreshment time.
So we girls left Beckett to his own calming time in Willy’s fountain.
Time to head home for a nap, girls.
So many friends on the trails, and so much joy on a beautiful early summer day means we’ll have to rest up for our next adventure, which is already being planned.
Until next week!
What a wonderful tribute to Willy. It would make mom misty, too.
We haven’t been able to enjoy the weather much, mom has been working a lot and trying to catch up on chores. Too bad because this weekend was perfect pug weather!

Mama says she was “playing hookie” all weekend, SFP, but I call her time with me her REAL calling! I hope your mama gets to take a break and hang out with you guys soon!

It was fun, Gampy! The boy dogs were all so fascinated with Lola Bulldog, they left me alone…which is JUST how I LIKE it!
