Heat Wave Pug

Although Big George Jr. is a valiant and sturdy member of our family at Casa Lola, he can really only do so much when the weather gets REALLY sticky.

(When did the term “Heat Wave” just become “Weather”? Thanks, global warming.)

So when the temperature in the bedroom starts to look like THIS…

…we migrate to the room that BG Jr. is living in. More for the pug than for me, to be honest. The poor Bean just can’t settle when it gets too hot, and being a pug, she has very few ways to cool herself down.

Someone (hint – it’s not me) sees this as a rather exciting, camping experience. She’s all set up with her water, her bonie, a cozy, cool place to rest, and her mama to snuggle with, should she so choose.

Even in the groggy, humid, very wee hours of the morning, she totally cracks me up.

Lucky pug?

Yup.

Lucky mama?

Absofreakinglutely.

That warm in your house? Yikes! We have central air so unless it’s broken, the house stays between 76-79 in the summer. Hoping your house cools down quickly!

Roxy recommends a 9:30 bootie call – 1st total immersion in cool water then frozen gel collar then off to the local RBC to show off her skills as a designated meet and greeter.

    • Roxy and her crazy water-loving ways. She’s my BFF, but she’s NUTS. Mama’s been talking about getting me a “cooling coat”, but I’m not sure I like the sound of that.

I don’t sleep we’ll in the heat either LP. But I’d say you have a good set up in the living room. I’d ask for breakfast in bed and see what happens. 🙂

  4. My refuge from the heat is the stone floor of the bathroom – deliciously cool 🙂

    • Mama keeps saying she’s going to get me some stone tiles to lie on, but I prefer to get her all worried by lying on the warm, wood floor. Heh. Gotta keep her on her toes, you know.
